A Glorious Day -Jan 17

Well I started to post a message early this afternoon and only got a few sentences in before things got very busy. This is the first opportunity today to write an update. There seems to be a bit of a trend lately with the days not starting so well and then wonderful things happen. This morning I needed to do laundry, however I left my wallet at the hospital. I had some inconveniences which delayed my getting to the hospital this morning. I won't bore you with the details let me just say I was very frustrated. When I finally arrived at the hospital I found Dennis in not so good shape with stomach flu type symptoms. He was not able to have much contact with Jerry, so needless to say he went back to the hotel to sleep for the day. After therapy and lunch Jerry was in bed resting awaiting his afternoon therapy when the most glorious thing happened. Jerry's legs were moving under the blanket, I couldn't believe my eyes. I asked him if he was trying to move his legs and he replied no. When his legs stopped moving I asked him to try and move just the left foot only focus on the left foot and low and behold the left toe moved. I then asked him to try to move the right foot and the right toe moved. It was the most wonderful thing I've ever seen. My heart is full of joy today and I praise God for yet another blessing. God is good and merciful and gives me what I need to sustain me through another day, praise him.

Please pray for Dennis that what ever sickness he had today is gone tomorrow and as always pray that Jerry's spinal cord will be perfectly mended and that God will heal each and every damaged nerve. Also pray for guidance in perusing project walk and if it's God's will he will provide the means to get Jerry to San Diego in four weeks.

Thank you to all my prayer warriors.
Katie

Katie! What glorious, glorious news! You must be walking on clouds tonight yourself! My love and prayers surround you and Dennis!

Lord God, thank you so much for your miracle today... a miracle that causes our hearts to soar! We give YOU all the praise and glory!

Lord, please be with Dennis and give him good sleep. Protect he and Katie, Josh, Janea, and Jessie... this stressful time wears down their bodies and their immune systems. Strengthen them. Keep them well so that they are able to be with Jerry each day. Restore their hearts, minds and bodies as you are restoring Jerry.

We are so honored to bear witness to your miracles... one day at a time! God, hold each of us close. As we go to our churches tomorrow let us share the good news of Your love for each of us as told through Following Jerry.

Dennis,
Jesus, I pray that you will heal Dennis' tired, worn down mind and body. Give him the strength that we all depend upon. The strength to hold Jerry, Katie, Josh, Jenae and Jessica. He is the rock that helps Katie keep this family steadfast in their belief in YOU.
Katie,
I pray, from one mother to another, HE is able to sustain your strenght too. (Why else would GOD give us the burden of carrying HIS little soldiers for 9 months plus the rest of our lives?)
Jerry,
Today will hold another miracle for you. (Jesus hear our prayer.)
Today, while all your family arrives, let them pick your spirits up and carry you to cloud 9 (not Coffee 9).
Lord, please keep Jerry focused on the work ahead and give him a light heart and a happy heart to do this work.
I love you guys,
GL

“This is one of the miracles of love: It gives a power of seeing through its own enchantments and yet not being disenchanted.”

In a circle of 30 women, sitting in the chapel of Dominican Hospital, we sang to Jerry...
"We are sending you Light to Hold You to Heal You, we are sending You Light to hold You in Love..."
and...
"Calling all angels, calling all angels, help me through this one, don't leave me alone. Calling all angels, calling all angels, we trying, we're hoping and we're not sure how..."

I also missed a day and reading this post today brought the happiest of tears to my eyes. I couldn't even read it to my husband as I have done in the past. After reading it for himself he walked away feeling the same as I was...
We don't know you personally but we are following your triumphs... keep going... stay strong... Jerry, you and your family are an inspiration.

God is good! It is amazing to see the power of fprayer in action. It is just a matter of time until Jerry's body is COMPLETELY healed. I can see it already!
A friend of mine just showed me this video on youtube today and it made me think of you. When you have a few minutes watch it. It is a snippet from a sermon talking about a molecule called laminin that holds our bodies together. Just wait until you see what it looks like! It is truly God's presence in us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e4zgJXPpI4
We are continuing to hold you in our thoughts and prayers.

This message is for Jerry;
Jerry, sometimes just when we think we have it all figured out, life happens and we are reminded to humble ourselves before God. In doing so we are able to do things with our lives we never dreamed possible. I remember well laying in a hospital bed night after night hurting, angry, sad, and frustrated. Believe me you couldn't ever be more humble than you are right now. God is with you, God is using your story to inspire so many, You have to remember that we can do nothing without God and Everything and ANYTHING with God. You must believe that you will get better, the pain will go away, the muscles will grow strong again, you will walk again, you must believe it and focus on God. You have all the Love and support you need we are all here for you Jerry, we Love you. In God's Holy name I ask daily Jerry be Healed, be Strong, be Faithful.
Our Love,
Josh and Nikki

Katie, Dennis, Jessica & the rest of the family: I was out of the loop for a while and found your blog using a link from the SLVGS web site. I was so sorry to hear that Jerry was injured. From reading through the blog, I can see that God is definitely using this tragic event to show what He can do. Your faith in such a time of trials is inspirational! Thank you for being so open and sharing what you are going through day to day. You help all of us focus on what is TRULY important! I will keep Jerry and your whole family in my prayers. - Dawn
