Today was a quiet day, Jerry got to catch up on some sleep as his schedule was canceled today to acomodate a bone density test so he spent a lot of time napping waiting to be picked up for the test. When the body experiences trauma of this magnitude the body can do some strange things in the healing process like building bone where it shouldn't be. Jerry's left hip is experiencing tightness during his range of motion sessions so the doctor ordered a bone density scan to see if the body is making bone in the hip joint. Please pray that this is not the case, pray that the bone density test comes back normal.

Jerry's energy level is good this evening, he only spent about three hours in his chair today so his pain level was down, he watched his favorite show "The Office" and spent some time on the phone with his buddy Luke. Jerry had some movement in his toes today and had a little more movement in the right toe, up till now the right side has been significantly weaker. It looks like the right toe didn't want to be left behind he couldn't let the left toe one up him. Please pray that the toe movement will advance to foot movement and the foot movement will progress to leg movement. Praise God for the movement Jerry does have and pray it will increase on a daily basis.

Thank you for posting comments and prayers we are continually uplifted be the love and support. Thank you all for lifting Jerry up in prayer on a daily basis, it means so much to us.

Good Night
Katie

Good job Katie! ..Thanks for the update! Here's hoping Jerry is snoring away, right this minute!
Long days come, and with them tiredness, ..but being tired can be a very good thing: It means God is encouraging you through a whole lot of growth! ..Tired can be good!
======================
Good luck on the "bone density" tests, ..it sounds like those doctors have a well concerned eye out for Jerry! ..I'll say a prayer for them, too!

Now, I keep thinking of what Dennis quoted back on the 5th:

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Phil 4:6)

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things. Sufficient for the day is it's own trouble."
(Math 6:34)

I'm so excited to hear about your progress Jerry. You are all in my prayers. I know this can not help Jerry right now, but I thought you all would like to see some research my brother is involved in, possible healing of spinal cord injuries. There is hope.

Thanks for the update. I love the quotes (Phil 4:6 & Math 6:34) that are posted in above comment.

We continue to pray for all of you, for complete healing. Katie, Dennis, Marci, - thank you for the guidelines for each days' Jerry Prayers.
I know God hears even the smallest of prayers, but I can't help but think how beautifully 'loud' all of our collective prayers 'sound' to Him when we are all praying for the exact same thing everyday, throughout the day. I am sure many of us are praying at the exact same moment!
Jerry - I hope that today is/was a good one for you. May your weekend be filled with many friends that you share much laughter & many smiles with!

Sleep is good, ask any teenager! :) The body gets healing time during sleep. I'm glad Jerry got a little more down time after his exciting evening the day before.
Still praying here, and thank you so much Marci, Katie and Dennis for your faithful journaling of this life challenge. May God bless you and keep you, may he make his face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Hey Jer, I'm subbing at Pacific School today and the kids were asking about you. As you can already see, Mason has already blogged you. they're a totally great group of kids - you know the ones who were always making the signs for the XC team the last few years. Well, they're still rooting for you!

There may be a few more coming your way as the kids have great interest in your recovery. Hope your day is going well and that it's brighter over there than here in Davenport.

Love to you,

Trish

I'm so excited to hear about the movement in the toes! As a mother I remember being thrilled about every new accomplishments my children were able to achieve. (Now it's the same with the Grandbabies.) I'll bet this is so much more exciting!! Praise God for encouragement. I will pray for continuing movement and that the bone density test comes back with good results. So many are praying with like minds.
Oh, and although I have not met Jerry, any guy who's favorite show is The Office is all right with me! What did we all do before Dunder Mifflin came into our lives?

We're with you in prayer through each day. Praying for Jerry's bone density test and for continued movement, as you mentioned, Katie- from his toes, right on up.
I echo what others have said about how you can take some comfort from knowing you are being prayed for, by someone, each moment of the day. I especially like the mention of our collective prayers being "beautifully loud" to the ears of God.
We know your needs are being met, but we are right here, willing to help where we can. We love you guys, even though time has separated us. We are with you in Christ,
Fred and Jenny
