Hey saw the story this morning in the Sentinel...my prayers are with you all. Here is a great fund raising tool we used when my friends daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. http://www.chipin.com it allows people to directly donate based on what you need. Much cleaner and easier for people to donate. I will stay tuned for developments.

Hoping you had as good a night's rest, last night, as you had the night before. The restorative power of a good night's sleep is huge!
Lord, we continue to hold Jerry and his family in our hearts through prayer. Thank you, Father, for the kindness of strangers, the uplifting and supportive intentions of others and for the devotion of friends and neighbors. Your generosity and love for us guides us and we listen. With a grateful heart I am aware of all the people who care for Jerry - his doctors, nurses, therapists, and most especially his family. Your works are amazing, Lord. Jerry is like the pebble in the pond. His ripples are touching so many lives and coming back to touch him and his family. Thank you, dear God, for holding this family in your ever loving hands. Theirs is a mighty and living example of your power! Amen

Much love to you,
Trish

Just read the Sentinel article. A thousand hits a day. It is hard to wrap one's mind around that. Unbelievable and yet it's not. The outpouring of love is exactly why we love this Valley. It must truly touch and overwhelm Dennis and Katie. I have crossed paths with this family for many years. I know their hearts to be pure. I know that they would be there for any of us in crisis. I know the power of prayer. I find myself forever praying not only for Jerry but his family that loves him so. Both Dennis and Katie have wondered how they will pay people back. There is no reimbursement for love. It flows freely. Just as Dennis and Katie have always given of their hearts so freely. I pray for those small blessings each day that brings a smile to a parents face.
God Bless

Sentinel article well done, a real heart tugger.
Jerry, Katie, Dennis....we are
quietly praying throughout the day for the small things that make you all smile, and for all the really big ticket prayer requests too!
I am praying the treatment team for Jerry puts together just the perfect plan that will help enable miracles to happen for Jerry.
May the sun shine on you all today, figuratively and literally!

To Jerry's mom and dad, my husband and I want to extend our best wishes for his recovery. I know that what you are going through is extremely difficult on the whole family, since our family has gone on the same roller coaster ride since October 12, when our 36 year old son was injured while riding his motorcycle in Moab, UT. Matt, who's a Santa Cruz High graduate, broke over 30 bones, including his back and neck at C6-C7. His wheelchair time is now up to 4 hours a day, since he had developed a pressure sore on his backside while at a long-term intensive care hospital in Denver. He's now at Craig Hospital in Denver, on of the top rehab facilities in the U.S. I can only say to you that I know the tremendous emotional pain the whole family is feeling. I will be praying for all of you.

Hey Jerry, great story. Im so happy to hear that you are eating again, because when I come back for a visit I will have to bring you a Muhsoods Tri Tip. Keep that smile strong, Im praying for you.

Well if Luke brings you Muhsoods, I'll bring you Tacos Morenos or Cheesy Tuesdays pizza from Pleasure Point. Or if you prefer, IN-N-OUT's double double. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
Love you Jer,
Luke's MOM

Looking up at the clock noticing it was about lunchtime, I smiled, Looked Up, with hope & prayer thinking - ahhhh....I bet Jerry sure enjoyed lunch today. I hope so....
In keeping with some light heartedness, & keeping positive:
Luke's mom's post: LOL - hope it brings a smile to Jerry's face too.
Sounds like someone's yelling "Charge!" - favorite foods coming your way!....speaking of...
Favorite foods: "these things in life are good..." from a moving scene in the movie 'Mask'
These things in life are good:
favorite foods after not eating for a week...
the sun on your face....
a smile....
Maybe others Following Jerry here would like to add their own ending to that sentence,
"These things in life are good........your words here!
I've always remembered that line and like to say it often. Always brings a smile!

Just another quick note to say that your entire family is never far from my thoughts and is continually in my prayers...I see your site has had 14,000+ hits. I'm encouraged to read your prayer requests and then read the next entry in which the requests were met. Our God is a gracious one, even during times of uncertainty. May God's love, strength & comfort continue to engulf you and encourage you throughout this time.

I just finished reading Jerry's story in the Sentinel and just wanted to express my thoughts and prayers for your family. My husband and I grew up in the valley and will always have a special spot in our hearts for why that community is so special and the story of your son's accident has reminded us of that once more. We will keep you in our thoughts and pray for Jerry's recovery.

Look at you... Mr. Celebrity. Pretty soon your room will need a bouncer. Might I suggest Nathan Jones?
