Great Night & Answered Prayer

Praise God for answered prayers Jerry had a great night of sleep. I only have time for a quick update as the mornings are quite busy. Jerry fell asleep about 11:30 last night and slept until about 8:00 this morning. There were no hallucinations, no confusion, no restlessness or anxiety. Jerry slept through the night only being woken by the nurses twice. I got a good night sleep as well.

Jerry has a very busy day planed, physical therapy at 9:00 am, his swallow test at 10:00, getting in his wheelchair at 1:30 and an MRI somewhere in between. Please pray that the results of the CT with contrast comes back normal with no damage to the artery that feeds the brain. Also pray that the results of the MRI come back normal.

I don't have the words to express the gratitude I feel for all the support and prayers and everything everyone is doing to help our family. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.

More later,
Katie

More later,

That is great news that Jerry was able to rest well last night and the "anomalies" from yesterday seem to have gone away. Thanks for the update and letting us know how to pray today.

God is Good!
So glad Jerry had peaceful sleep at last.
I pray God will grant him the strength of spirit to work hard for his complete recovery.
Jerry, you can do it. Think of the wall you and your teamates would hit when running through Fall Creek, Crystal Springs or racing at Mt. Sac or at State. You pushed yourself through the pain and completed every time. So too will you complete this race.
We love you!!!

Hello MacCallisters,
I know you have heard this verse before but as I was reading it a few months ago it struck me in a new way. The verse is Jeremiah 29:11 and it says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." So many times I've heard people quote or use this verse at times like graduations or when someone is starting a new part of their lives and they are fully of hope and expectation; but that's not when God chose to give this promise to Israel. When I read it a few months ago I read the whole chapter. Israel was in a dark place and things were going to get worse before they got better. I was thinking about these words and why God would choose this time to give them to Israel I started thinking about when we were kids and we wanted something really badly and our parents told us no, and from our perspective as a child it seemed like they were just trying to "ruin our lives!!" (Perhaps a bit dramatic but then kids usually are!) For most of us as we got older we gained a new perspective and we realized that our parents had good reasons for not allowing us to have want we thought we wanted so badly. And I think really that is what God wanted to say to Israel. "Look, the things that are coming are hard but they're necessary. I truly am not trying to "ruin your lives". I have great plans for you, plans for my glory and your good. And plans to bless you in ways you never thought possible. But you're going to have to trust me through this dark spot." Those words are for you today Jerry. And Dennis and Katie and Josh and Janea and Jessica. God has great plans for your future. Things you would never have even believed possible!! I have been praying for you and will continue to pray! I am already overwhelmed at seeing the amazing faith being brought out in each of you.

Love, Shannon Fry

It's wonderful that you had a good night of rest. We pray for many more of these. It's also good to see where your heart is and know that you are seeing those moments of Joy. We pray for many more of those also. As you all go through all the hard work ahead, we pray for strength.
Every time I think of you, I thank God for you. Each time is a trigger to prayer. Philippians 1:3

It is so great to see you "chillin" on the patio and then to get a full night sleep. Since we have heard about your situation we have been praying for you and your family. Collectively, as a class, we struggle to understand why such a burden has been placed on you or even what to say for comfort. We agree that our words aren't enough. His words are. At such a time we encourage you to stay strong with God. God's help is always there and he will never let go. His words are our best hope. We will continue to pray our prayers so that as you pray, you will hear His words of understanding and comfort. For now and as days go by please know we are available to help through your therapeutic times.
wish you lots of Josh 1:9
