TGIF

As another week winds down, I can't help but to think about the upcoming days. Lots to do, lots to learn, and less time to do it. The time is coming soon when we can get my son home and start his rehabilitation in a more natural setting. Wow. Time to get-er done. Once again, thanks for all the help.

This week has been pretty good though. Jerry has been working hard, and his mood has been good. He still doesn't care for hospital food very much, but he is eating well. He has been getting some sleep, enough to get him through the next day, and he has been able to get out and do a few things, and that's always a plus. So here we are on Friday night. His day went well again today, he got a new collar (neck brace) that felt better when he was up. He completed all of his therapy, stayed in his chair for six hours, and even got a McFlurrie. Some friends came by, along with his brother, so life was pretty good.

So all in all, today was a good day. I hope he and Katie get a good nights rest as Cara the therapist is coming in to wake him up to do tomorrows schedule at 8:30 instead of 10. He will enjoy seeing Cara as she has been in another unit all week, but I'm not sure about at that time. Glad it's Katie's night tonight. he he Any way thanks for your endless prayer support, and devotion to my family.

God Bless,
Dennis

Everytime I read about the updates on Jerry's daily happenings, even when you tell us of the "not so good news", I am filled with such warmth on the amount of love and faith you and Katie continue to have. I honestly don't know if I could be as strong if something happened to my children. I will continue to pray for the best for your family.

I am so glad to hear that Jerry is sleeping better. He definitely needs good quality sleep with the amount of workouts he is going through.

PLEASE don't forget to take care of yourselves. Jerry gets his strength from the two of you!!!!

Well, I guess I'm praying the 3 am shift tonight. No problem!

Lord God, thank you for my family...for Dennis, Katie, Jerry, Josh, Janea, and Jessie. Thank you for their strength, their patience, their perseverance, and their faith in You. Thank you for restoring each of them each day to meet the challenges that lay before them. Thank you for guiding their path and lighting their way.

Thank you, Lord for the blessings that each day brings to balance the anxious moments. Thank you for family, friends and community. For moving biceps, toes and feet. Thank you in advance for the provision of a van and new rooms at the house for Jerry. We know the needs will be met somehow.

Thank you Lord for the doctors, nurses, therapists, and all the members of Jerry's team; continue to guide and direct them as You would have them treat Jerry. Thank you for the medications that are allowing Jerry to sleep; and for peace for Katie and Dennis as they sort out so much information and make decisions.

God, I just ask that Your hands be on this precious family today and tomorrow as they continue on this journey. Surround them with Your love and grace. I pray Lord for Jerry's full recovery and give You all the praise and honor for all the miracles we have witnessed thus far. You are the Great Physician, the Healer, and I ask that Your hand be upon Jerry and the family at this moment and always. In the precious name of Your Son, Jesus.

We're praying in tandem here that God will provide you with everything that is needed and thanking Him for sooo many things.
We are echoing the prayer from Laurie written in the post above.
We ask God for healing, strength, guidance with all the decisions, and that everything that needs to be done to bring Jerry home, God please let everything fall into place perfectly.
God please continue to take care of Jerry, Katie, Dennis, and family.
Lord, please let there be sunshine for the Spaghetti feed, and a rainbow over the firehouse that day too.
Praying that Jerry got the therapist he liked this morning and that the session went well. Hope & pray for it to be a good day with many small blessings throughout.
Now, about that map - WOW - a couple new countries, including a hit from smack dab in the middle of Saudi Arabia! I keep thinking that one of these days I will click on the map and all those dots will form some sort of word, picture, sign. It would not surprise me. Like seeing pictures in the cloud formations sort of! I suppose one could see pictures in their bowl of morning oatmeal too LOL....smile
Community response to Spaghetti Feed at Boulder Creek Fire House is awesome!
also heavy duty praying for van.
Dear God please bring forth a donation of a van for Jerry.

Just a quick note after reading your update. It sounds like you are resting in God's presence. This morning's verse in my email was: I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

~ Isaiah 65:24, NLT

God has got you covered! Isn't He awesome.

Great to see you yesterday Jerry. Thanks for letting Gabe take a spin on your new wheels. I don't know how you guys do it, finding the fun in all the little things.

I was so happy to meet "Rosie,"I mean Maria. You are blessed to have such a wonderful, warm and funny nurse taking care of you. I noticed she makes you smile and laugh, what more can we ask?

Thank you also Jer for letting me kiss and hug on you without too much protest. It made me feel good to let you know that you are like one of my own.

Katie and Dennis, you are doing a fabulous job. Your determination and sheer will to help Jerry get home to all of us is incredible. I praise God that he has given you this strength and that he continues to watch over both of you and Jer, Josh, Jen and Jess.
Love you guys,
Gretch
P.S. Go Arizona Cardinals!
Sorry if you guys are Steelers fans but boohoo, Cardinals are going to win!
