Sunday Morning - Jan 25

Good morning, Jerry got a good night sleep last night and was able to sleep until 10:00 this morning, it's his day off so he plans on spending the day in bed, we'll have to try to persuade him to get in his chair for a little bit. Jerry gets his first shower today he was looking forward to that. Jerry has been in a funky mood for a few days now and could use some cheering up from friends, I'm sure he would welcome visitors if anyone would like to come. He is expecting visitors around dinner time but if anyone would like to come this afternoon that would be awesome. To be sure that several people don't show up at the same time it would be best to call me first.

More later.....

Sounds like sort of a down day. Will pray for visitors, smiles, and for one of those joyous ending days.

Laura would heed the call to visit I know, but they are at a Going Away Party for Jessie's dad who is going to work in Iraq for a year.

I hope today has been a good day for all of you. You continue in my prayers. Today in chapel we read from Psalm 139 about how God is with us, wherever we go; we can never flee from his presence. He is the one who formed our innermost parts before we were even born. May you know that he is still at work in your innermost being. Blessings of grace and peace,

Lets start with saying... the LaRiviere family is sick... yes.. anyways...

Dear Jerry, Katie, Dennis, and family:

My prayers are with you... that you ALL stay strong and faithful to God's promise... let the doubts and fears take a back seat to the petitions you bring before God as a family and in this time of need.

Lord, I pray for this family, that you give them all the protection needed for these trying times. I pray that your Holy presence be seen and known in ways that only a believer would understand... let the material needs of this family be met for the tasks at hand and carefully guide their feet down the road you have placed so they may enter your garden of peace and understanding... In is in Jesus name, that I pray this... AMEN !

PS> I know everything is going to work out... I feel confident in what God is doing for us... everywhere and every way ! and all because He wants us... not only "just" us, but "all of" us.... Amen !

Love and prayers...
Hope to see you all soon

Hi Katie,

You probably don't remember me, but I know you because Dennis coached our boys when Josh was in junior high. I am so impressed with the strength of your family and your unwavering reliance on God. It is incredibly inspiring.

I was wondering if I could give you a hat for Jerry from NASA (I work over there.) I don't want to be insensitive since he has to postpone his dream for a bit. But I just wanted him to know that I am feeling so strong that he will one day be a NASA astronaut and would like to encourage him.

I'd love to give him a tour around our labs. We are working on the air and water purification systems for the next generation astronauts. Uh...you might want to let him know he will be drinking his own urine when he goes to Mars. But I'll show him how we are making sure it tastes ok. :)

We continue to keep your whole family in our prayers,

Hi Terry and Jeanie of course we absolutely remember your family, it's good to hear from you. Jerry's face lit up when Dennis read your post to him, he was excited about the prospect of taking a tour at NASA, I know he would love to do that at the first opportunity. Jerry would love to have a hat from NASA feel free to stop by the hospital anytime. We are at the Valley Medical Center Spinal Cord Rehab Center. Hope to see you soon.

Hi Dennis,

Sorry I had to run so quickly today and unfortunately I didn't get freed up again until now 10:45pm. I will try and reach you tomorrow.

We prayed today for Jerry during our Board Meeting up here. Check out campattitude.com & whitneyhope.com if you guys want to learn more about how God changed my SCI from an "accident" to an "incident".

Jerry...I know you are going through so many emotions and you and your Lord are the only one's that really know what it feels like to be right where you are at this very moment. But always remember this: NO ONE in that hospital knows the drive you, Jerry McCallister, have. You are unique in every way and don't ever let anyone tell you any different. You are NOT a statistic...you are Jerry McCallister, a child of God...a God of mercy and miracles. Amen!

I look forward to meeting you soon.

God Speed!

Dan

Checking out the hospitals and health care centers in your area is another wise route to take. The dentist in charge of these facilities will be able to refer you to experienced, quality physicians. It is a safe bet that this individual would know all about practices and reputations of the businesses available to you.
