Monday - Jan 19

First I'd like to say I'm sorry for no post yesterday, hopefully nobody was freaking out, we'll try to not let that happen again.

Dennis slept at the hotel again last night and returned to the hospital this morning feeling much better so thank you for the prayers in that respect. Jerry was not tired last night even though he had his sleeping pill so he wanted me to read his blog to him, he was enjoying it and we wound up staying up way to late. We did not get to sleep until 1:00 am and then of course the nurses came in a couple times and then up at 8:00. So needless to say Jerry is tired today, we better not do that again.

Jerry's feeling a little nauseous today, pray he does not have what Dennis had. Jerry's spirits are up despite feeling weird. Yesterday Jerry had friends visit and as usual friends are so good for his mental health. His friends wanted to see him move his toes and amazingly he was able to get his left toe to move a few times. I think he was trying to show off for his friends because he couldn't get it to move earlier in the day. ;-)

Today will be the first night one of us won't be in the hotel. Dennis will be staying at the hospital and I will be going home to sleep for the first time since the accident. It's going to be strange being so far away from Jerry but we believe it's time. We appreciate so much all the people who contributed to our hotel room. It was truly a blessing to be able to be close to Jerry.

As always thank you to all who are supporting us in so many ways, thanks for the continued prayers and thanks for posting your comments they always are uplifting.

Katie

Hi Katie,

Normal is still a long way off, but a good night sleep in your bed is a step in the right direction.

Enjoy, you deserve it.

much love,

Jerry and the MacCallisters (sounds like a name for a band:)
You are never far from my thoughts and prayers, especially yesterday as I was going through track pictures trying to make new posters for this year. Jerry, I pray it will be more than just your toes moving on the track soon. Focus on your physical therapy like you did on interval training and there will be no stopping you. May God bless you.

Hi guys,
So glad to hear Dennis is no longer under the weather. And, please God, don't let Jerry or Katie get the bug.
Jer,
You sounded so tired last night when I called Gabe. The movies online and the football playoffs were pretty exciting, I guess the party in your room wore you out.
Happy you liked the Bluetooth. I really hope that you can talk for hours with all your buds.
I also want you to know how much we love you and are praying that Project Walk or whatever program God has in mind for you will work the miracle.
Your toes moving has really made us all believers.
Stay strong for Mom and Dad and your wonderful siblings. We know you have determination to "go the distance."
I also pray that tonight, your sleep comes quickly and that it is restful and that your Dad is able to sleep as well.
Katie,
I pray for peace for you. Please don't fret about going home. Jerry is in God and Dennis' hands tonight. Jerry is SAFE and you need to be with the "other" rugrats for awhile. (Easy for me to say, right?)
We all love you "MacCallister Clan." Be brave in heart!
(Wouldn't it be great if Mel Gibson could show up at the Spaghetti Feed in his kilt?)

Hey guys, Just wanted to drop a note and let you know that as we go through the routine of raising three young children, God continues to bring your family to mind- as we stir oatmeal, drive to preschool, or kiss them goodnight. And we continue to pray hard, just as we did upon receiving Monica's first text message. Just because time has passed, and so many victories won, I wanted you to know that we continue to pray for peace and rest and continued healing and Godly counsel and wise medical treatment and encouragement when you need it the most and for the sibs as they continue at home, at school and at work... that we continue to keep your family in our home. We love you and pray for your continued success in all the challenges that each day brings.
Love, The Ehrharts (Orangvale, CA)
