Super Bowl Sunday

Sunday, a day of rest. A day to unwind and relax and to prepare for another week. Started out with a nice shower for Jerry around 10, so we got to sleep in a bit. As we got done with his shower, Jerry started feeling a little nausea, so we decided to get him back in bed and let him rest until our guests arrived to watch the Super Bowl. Other patients guests started showing up around 1:00, and it started getting a little crowded, so I went into the day room and tried to get the TV there to work, so there would be more room. I couldn't seem to get any reception, so as I gave up. Robin, one of the other Patients, went and got a maintenance man to get us hooked up and he got it done. Good job Robin! As our friends arrived, Jerry still was not feeling so well so we ended up just having a party in our room. Katie showed up with some Super Food that Gretch had made so we turned our room into a buffet. Thanks Gretchen, it was marvelous. Along with Katie was Matt, Gabe, Alan, Janea, Jessica and even nurse Maria snuck in for some grub. Trish showed up a little later to catch the end of the game and we had a good time. After everyone left, we sat and watched the hour long Office and just relaxed. I took a few photo's so here they are. I thank the Lord for the quiet time with family and friends and hope that Jerry is feeling a bit better tomorrow.
Good Night to all and God bless.
Dennis

3 am shift reporting for duty!

Lord, thank you for Super Bowl Sunday; for times to just gather with family and friends, let the cares of the world pause, and relax and enjoy the moment. Thank you for goofy 3D glasses and for haircuts. Thank you for each day and the blessings you bestow.

Lord, I ask for help with the nausea that Jerry's been experiencing. If it is a side-effect of something we should be paying more attention to, point us in the right direction. If it is just a part of the process, God, I ask for healing. I ask for relief so Jerry has the strength to focus on the day ahead, to sleep deeply, to relax in comfort.

Lord, as always, I pray this is a journey for Jerry toward 100% healing. Thank you for loving us so intimately, for pursuing us so relentlessly. Thank you for drawing us close and providing for each day's needs. We love you and give you all praise, honor, and glory in your Son's precious name.

Hi guys,
Looks like fun was had by all at the rave. So glad Allen, Matt and Gabe were able to get past the bouncers.

What a heart wrencher of a Superbowl. I could hear all of your fans watching from SCVMC clear over the hill to B Lo. (I didn't get to see the game in 3D and my team lost.) Bummer.
Jerry, today is going to hold miracles. Don't forget we are all praying for your healing and that you feel God's love surround you and that He gives you the strength to get through another day without nausea.
Lord we also pray that the rest of the MacCallisters find peace and the tools they need to help Jerry through this trying time. Amen!

Mornin'
As we often do, Buel and I start out with our coffee and tea as we talk about our respective day of work. Not long after the litany of tasks does our conversation swing over to you, the MacCallister Family and all who are along for the ride. We have talked about how we all fit into God's plan, though we're not always sure what that plan is, we wait, and KNOW the He is near.

Upon further reflection, we feel so grateful to be witnessing such love and support among friends, neighbors and total strangers. Sometimes, God isn't as big a mystery as people make Him out to be. (Though the Cards losing last night - well...)

Our occasion for prayer is constant. Our fervent and foremost prayer is for complete healing of spinal cord, vertebra, and nerves. We pray for comfort and no nausea, for opportunities to knit fractures and brokenness in all forms. We give thanks for the progress, for the nurses and docs who put 110% into Jerry's care and who care for the whole family.

Hope today is bright with sunshine, warmth of hugs and kisses, vertical movement and a big lack of nausea.

With love,
Trish and Buel - oh, Mary, too.

Glad you got to have a super bowl party of your own; this year it was a good game and they had good commercials. :)
And looking good with that new haircut Jerry.

Mozambique ! yep & Togo !
The map has reached over 30,000!
That is truly God at work spreading His love for Jerry all over the world!
I hope today was a good day for Jerry. We continue to ask God for complete healing. We ask God to please let everything that is needed to just fall into place so perfectly. Praying for all to have a good night tonight and good nights sleep.
The Spaghetti Feed team meets tonight. I think we are all pretty excited about the positive responses received about/for it!
The response has been inspiring in of itself!

Looks Like Fun! I've never commented before but pray for your family daily and know that God has many miracles in the making. I am a friend of the LaRiviere's/Carroll's (I used to babysit their kids when they lived in MO.) What an inspiration your family has been with a faith that remains so strong! I have a friend who's husband was paralyzed and is a walking miracle now. You can check out his story on www.joerhea.com He's now an speaker for spinal cord injury. Check out his story!

God Bless!
