Thursday - Mar 12

I must say the visiting nurse at 8:30 this morning was a bit early, however the rest of the day went very well. I got Jerry ready for the outing to SCI-FIT while Dennis made a few calls about the power wheelchair and then worked on the room. We decided it would be more productive for Dennis to stay home and work on the room and I would take Jerry to Pleasanton. That plan worked out fine, Janea and her boyfriend Josh went along to help out if Jerry needed anything along the ride. There's always something an itch on the nose, adjust the hands, a drink of water, wipe the eyes. It will be interesting when we finally get to a point where I will be taking Jerry on my own. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get to Pleasanton, that's a long ride with an itchy nose and nobody to scratch it, I guess we'll cross that bridge when it comes.

SCI-FIT was wonderful, I wish Jerry could go every day.
Here's Jerry in the standing frame with trainers Jerry and Bianca.

Ok, I'm a dork, I took the video with the camera turned on it's side so I could fit Jerry's whole body in the frame. I can't figure out how to turn the video up right. Any suggestions?

Here's Jerry on the total fitness machine working with the John

Jerry had a big workout but felt pretty good afterward. The ride to and from Pleasanton beat him up a little more than the workout. His chair bounces with every bump, some of the bumps practically send him through the roof. You never think about how bad some of the roads are until you are in a situation like this.

All in all it was a good day. God Bless.....good night!!!

OUTSTANDING!!! You're right Katie, seeing the standing machine is a lot different than the description you gave. WOW! Very cool. Can't wait to show the kids at PS-next week- no school today. They're gonna be stoked to see the video. Dork or no, it's really cool to see. I'm totally impressed!

Step by step, Jer. Jerry, by the way, thank you for allowing all of us to see the peaks and valleys with you and your folks. You inspire so many feelings - courage and perseverance are the first two that come to mind. I'm don't doubt some days you'd rather not be where you are, however, you're life is so precious to us all.

Heavenly Father, you are wondrous and loyal and love us so. You touch us through Jerry's journey. We continue to pray for patience and understanding and healing. We pray that your love continue to guide the hands of all those who work with Jerry and his family. Their devotion to each other is an amazing testimony to the love and trust they have in you. Their resolve is unshakable - do what needs to be done and move forward. Their grace and tenacity are all due to your love and presence in our lives. Thank you, dear Father, for the smile on Jerry's face, the support from his siblings and community at large. May we all see your loving hand in this whole journey. Amen

Hope you have another lovely day, Macs. It's supposed to just keep getting warmer and warmer for the next four days. Whooppeeee!

Much love,
The Proffitts

SCI-FIT looks awesome, especially with Jerry standing up. Did you all see how he towers above his trainers? The kid is a giant. No wonder the bumps in the road are so gnarly.
Hey Jerry, it's so nice to see that smile of yours. You're strength is simply amazing.
Here's praying for another great day, maybe even a rest for you and your family.
Hope to get up to see you guys this weekend.
Love to all,
Gretch
