Quick Update

Just a quick update to say everything is going well. Jerry's nausea has been at a tolerable level the last week. This week we started something new with Jer's pain meds. Generally Jerry takes 2 pain pills as needed which usually is 3 to 4 times per week. When Jer takes pain meds his nausea seems to go away or is at least at a tolerable level. Doc wants Jerry to take a 1/2 a pill three times a day to see if that will help keep the nausea at bay. So far so good.

Jerry has been trying out his new XBox game controller, he's not terribly pleased with it, we may have to return it. His chin mouse has been working fairly well and allows Jer to play some video games on his laptop.

Dennis got the texture done in Jer's room and is ready to start painting, Jerry wanted to use the color scheme of the Monster energy dirk, fluorescent green and black. Jerry doesn't want to use the Monster logo any where in his room just the colors. This ought to be interesting trying to incorporate neon green. After we paint Dennis will install the flooring and fixtures then Jer can move in. Colleen you asked awhile back if we have a programmable thermostat, we do. We have central heat but no AC, we are having an AC unit installed it should be done sometime this week. We do have the programmable thermostat but most often the problem is not the room temperature it's Jer's body temp. It can be cold in the room and Jer will be burning up, or visa versa. Thanks Colleen for the offer, we appreciate you thinking of Jer and following his progress.

We are changing our SCI-FIT schedule from Mondays to Fridays, they are not open Mondays anymore so we will be in Pleasanton Wed and Fri. Today we are off to Domincan.

Thanks for praying,

Katie

Darn it Katie,
I really liked the idea of the Monster M for MacCallister on a black wall, even the ceiling. Anyway, it should add alot of charcter to his room when his new chair arrives with the neon green.
Let me know if you need any help with the painting. (The more brushes, the faster the job.)
Hey Jer,
Hope the pain med change-up works for the nausea and that today is a good day at Dominican.
Praying that it doesn't rain on you as the weatherman is predicting a few showers this week.
Keep up the hard work and the tingling. (Maybe we could get a video of you moving those arms and knees. That way we could all concentrate on praying for those specific parts of your body at the same time. Group prayer around the world couldn't hurt.)
Light spirits and happy hearts today.
Love,
Gretchen

Morning Macs,

Jess, congrats on 2nd team all-league! You guys had a great season and it was fun following the games and stats.

Was that lightning storm great or what? Mary, Buel and I sat out back, behind the garage. He's cleared a view spot, overlooking the valley behind us and the blanket of clouds was spectacular as the sun set below them. The color was exquisite. We could hear the storm rolling in, literally. We'd never heard the rolling sound like that before. Anyway, Buel noticed how dark it was directly overhead. Patch wasn't appreciating the approaching noise, so I put him in the truck - his favorite place. Just as I returned to an amazing array of hues of pink the flash and CRACK were so instantaneous, we clapped our hands over our ears. We decided we should probably take cover somewhere besides being under a bunch of tall trees. Mary and I were on the porch and Buel went back to turn down his tractor seat, as he did, he thought, "Oh great, here I am surrounded by metal int he middle of a lightning storm." As if God were answering, another FLASH and CRACK. Can't say as I've ever seen him run so fast into the house. We all laughed. It was pretty spectacular.

I guess the point is, we were appreciating the glorious sunset and the splendor of God's creation, both extravagant in beauty and power coupled with the fierce darkness that can sidle next to it. As the rain fell, refreshing the dry ground, we all breathed in and exhaled that great smell left when moisture hits the dry, parched ground.

So, dear Macs, our prayer for you, this day, is that your day be filled with the splendor, glory, and exquisite beauty people have to share with you. That peace overtake a minute ( or more )of your day that allow you that "Aaahhh" moment.

Love to you,
The Proffitts

Hi Katie,

I check in from time to time to see how Jerry's doing. I pray that the nausea will get better. Have you tried ginger, I've heard that it helps with nausea. Praying for Jerry's recovery.
