Ballgame Update

We are looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday, July 18 for a 6pm game between the San Jose Giants and the Modesto Nuts. It ought to be a perfect summer evening....baseball, BBQ, all of you...and the Beer Batter!

(Never heard of the San Jose Giants? Not sure about the Beer Batter? For more on both, click here.)

Between now and then, we are hoping to sell all 2500 of our tickets. Once we sell the first 300 tickets (to cover our event costs), every single dollar will go straight to funding Jerry's physical therapy at SCI-FIT, as well as covering other aspects of his care and recovery.

To get started, we'd love the help of all of you who read this blog.

If you would be able to post an event flyer at your place of employment, your Gym, your kid's preschool, wherever, we'd appreciate it. If you would like to take a stack of tickets to sell to your friends and family, just let us know and we'll set you right up. If you might consider inviting your friends and family to the game and point them to purchasing tickets on the blog, we'd be thrilled.

Truly, the San Jose Giants do a fantastic job of providing an entertaining evening. This particular game will be really special as we even get to select a person to throw the first pitch and sing the National Anthem. (Hey...anyone know anyone famous for this?!?!)

So if you can help, we'd love it. If you'd like a stack of tickets to sell, or a copy of the flyer suitable for emailing, just jot us an email at ballgame@followingjerry.com If you have any ideas or suggestions to offer as plans continue, email us with that too!

Thank you to everyone for playing a part in Jerry's recovery....your support means everything to the MacCallister Family.

For all of Jerry's Angels,
Marci

Hi guys! The game sounds like a lot of fun!! I will check my calendar and definitely make it if I can. Someone sent me a link to a website called http://www.riderdown.org/. Have you heard of it? They might be really helpful and it looks like they help with lots of fundraisers for people who have been hurt riding motorcycles, ATVs, etc. Check it out. I hope to see you guys soon!

I believe it was riderdown that helped so much with the first fundraiser and a generous donation. Leanne?Kris? - one of these SuperAngels was instrumental in soliciting their help I think, and they, & riderdown stepped up to the plate immediately. I believe they are mentioned a few times, and thanked, in some of the earliest blog entries.
Kudos & a very big big thank you to riderdown and all who support them. Somebody correct me if the above info is incorrect.

Jerry - tears of joy watching that video of you moving your arm & waving. Viewed that video clip a few times - each time still brings an OMG. Still thanking God for that wonderful progress. Good for you for working sooo hard to get there.
Go Jerry Go!
Watching old videos of elementary school days - and there was Jerry! I think it was from kindegarten. Always were a cutie!

This week I will be plastering the valley with ballgame flyers, and talking you up, so your ears may be ringing!
Mission: "Marketing Jerry" !!
Barreling up & down Hwy 9, and beyond, singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" and John Fogerty's song "Centerfield" (which I have a very rare copy of an unreleased version- of course it is with Keith Urban- only other guy besides Jerry decorating my car- yep Jerry, know you hate country music, -but the two stickers together are sort of eye catching)

p.s. - Fogerty trivia - hard to understand what Fogerty is singing in all those old songs- LOL it is because the guy "tends to sing only vowels" he says LOL, no wonder, geesh!

The Commish job? let us all know when we must start calling you that!
Keeping you in our prayers.
MacCallisters, have a great day!!:)

Thanks Sharon F. for posting, you are correct Rider down did send us a care package/donation, they are a wonderful organization. I love hearing from you, you always have wonderful positive words to say. Thank you so much for helping promote the ball game.

Cara, that would be great if you could make the ball game, bring the crew. I need to call Kathy, Dennis was saying Kathy should bring a group of patients for outing night. That would be fun!

I've purchased 4 tickets for the game, but will be out of town, so won't be able to attend. If you know of someone who would like to go, but who can't purchase tickets, please let me know. They may have mine.
Thanks, Diane
