The last two nights Jerry has slept in his own room. I think he's pretty glad that he doesn't have to listen to me snore, he slept well and likes the new room. I miss our bed time chats or laying in bed laghing about something silly the kitties did, but I do love having my bed back. Dennis is really appreciating not sleeping on the couch. Here's a sneak peak of Jer's room, Dennis and Jessica laying the floor. I'm not done decorating but when I am I'll post more pictures.
Tomorrow we are at Dominican rehab, it will be nice to get back to the routine after taking last week off. I don't have much new news other than we are in the process of weaning Jerry off of 3 of his medications. Please keep him in your prayers that the transition will be successful and these medications can be eliminated.
Thanks
Katie

I just love the pictures. Clearly Dennis' finger is recovering! Daughter and Dad time - I love it! Oh, what's better, Jerry is the beneficiary of such bonding. Go Macs!
We continue our prayers of gratitude and appreciation for all you do for one another. Father, we give you thanks and praise for the improvements all the Macs have made. We pray, Lord, that Jerry's body respond favorably to the change in meds and continue to establish more new nerve pathways, through the damaged spinal cord. We are grateful for the tingles and new movements, for the continued effort all the therapists and doctors and for Jerry's progress. We especially are mindful of his friends who have buoyed him - literally and figuratively. Father, continue to bless those friendships as they are the ones that glorify you and your way for us.
Blessings from the Proffitts
Dear Jerry,
it's me, Laura's crazy mom...
uh...lol, speaking of crazy moms: your mom driving down Lombard street in the van, and her description: I was cracking up thinking, WOW, that woman is one brave woman!! I bet you had one big smile all the way down!
Couldn't help but think of you at air show last weekend...since you have demonstrated you are definitely made of "the right stuff"!
I wish you could have seen the Blue Angels. The ultimate I guess for any Navy pilot....
While there is no doubt sadness that you aren't flying (right now!!)
You are still an "Angel" to all your friends and family! and I am sure you still love planes!
Blue Angels from the President's Club section would have been pretty comfortable for you...lots of shade, free flowing drinks, & tons, endless, delicious food!... and front row flight line at the end of the runway seating, with 6 of the prettiest
F18s you'll ever see, sitting smack dab in front of you, yards away, until they do there part of the show. They start up, line up, and one by one slowly drive by the center flight line - waving & all thumbs up!
Next year, President's Club for you! I could only get my hands on two tickets.
I got a poster & had it signed by one of the Blue Angels for you. Laura will bring it over when she is not contagious with flu anymore. She's been really sick.
Prayers that all goes well, and you feel well with dropping those three meds.
That was us waving out our sunroof today on Bear Creek Rd.
I smell smoke, not a good thing up here, yikes - everyone pray for a fire free summer!
Sincerely, RaptorMom
fyi,
small vegetation fire way up Empire Grade way heard from scanner. Thank God & I am sure our wonderful area firefighters too for their as always quick response & being right on top of things!
God Bless the Proffitts and anyone else near the Bonny Doon fire.
Everyone please say a prayer that this fire is contained quickly and that no one else has to lose thier home.
Pray for Jerry's continued healing and that the medication reduction goes smoothly and NO MORE NAUSEA!
Lord hear our prayer. Amen!
Gretch
