I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, when things remain the same with very little change I struggle to know what to write about. Jerry is doing well for the most part. There were a couple of days where Jerry felt depressed and had a hard day but it was short lived thank God. This is such a roller coaster ride for us all but particularly for Jerry. I'm so glad it's summer though because a lot of Jerry's friends are home from college. Jerry has been spending quite a bit of time with his friends, those are the times when he feels good. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little worried for the end of summer when everyone goes back to school.
Jerry had another ultrasound which came back normal. Jerry has an endoscopy and colonoscopy coming up, still trying to get to the bottom of the nausea. I will say the nausea seems to be getting better, he still wakes up with it and it never really is fully gone however it stays at a tolerable level for most of the day.
Please continue to pray that God will heal Jerry completely. Pray that God will give Jerry strength, peace and determination to keep working hard.

I'm always glad to hear good news about Jerry. I haven't heard any updates about Allie but I hope it means that they're too busy with her treatments/workouts.
For anyone who hasn't already heard - we had another scare with an '07 SLV Grad - Chris K. Last Tues., he was hit by a drunk driver while riding home on his motorcycle (Hwy 9 & Brackney). Fortunately, his injuries were minor compared to what it could have been (wrist & lower leg injuries) & he was able to go home on Thurs. He's in a lot of pain but fortunately, he won't have to go through months of therapy.
He's just another reminder that we need to appreciate life because you never know what will happen. Hug your kids, your spouse & don't forget to appreciate each day you have with each other.
I think Jerry & his family have given all of us the opportunity to stop & appreciate having each other, having friends & especially living in such a great community. SLV is definitely a GREAT Place To Be!!! See you at the Giants game.

Please heal his body completely.
Touch everything that has been injured and is causing discomfort. Restore to him the strength that this body was created to display. Be healed!

The end of summer, don't look that far, yikes :) - Lots of valley 'kids' attendinig Cabrillo. Jerry will still have some of his friends close by. They will still be looking to hang out with him, many Poker Nights lay ahead !!

In many ways, this settling into "routine" has been the most difficult time for me with Connor - it felt like I was accepting his situation as "normal", something I have no peace about doing. It felt like I was giving up on my faith and belief that God is going to set my son back on his feet. I wasn't, but it felt that way as there were few things new, and the dull and deadly routine threatened to overwhelm us. We are wrestling with our sense of purpose in this time, but you can trust that God is jut as much in control of this time as He is at any other. Remember, this too is working something good - not just in Jerry, not just in your family, but across this online community and the world - for every person who loves God and is called according to His purpose, this time in our sons' lives is working good. Somedays I have to choose to believe it, but it's still true.
Take comfort - many many people continue to lift you and your son up before the Throne of Grace.
I took the liberty of referring the folks in the ConnorWatch Community to Jerry's story - I hope you don't mind. There's a reason that these young men, so close together location-wise and in other ways, are in such similar situations. God moves.
Hold fast - daylight comes.
