Thursday - July 23

We are so busy with therapy and doctor appointments, the days seem to fly by, I can't believe we are over 7 months post injury. It seems like yesterday and yet it seems like a life time ago, how is that possible. What's even more ridicules is we still don't have Jerry's permanent power wheelchair or bed.

Jerry still struggles with nausea but it seems like it's getting better. Jerry has an endoscopy and colonoscopy today at noon. I know this sounds weird but sometimes I just want one of these tests to come back with a problem. Although you don't want there to be a problem it's obvious there is a problem or he wouldn't be nauseous for 7 months. If one of the tests came back with a problem you would at least know what your dealing with and how to fix it. The fact that every test they have done til now has come back normal is great however it leaves us still searching for the needle in the hay stack. Despite the morning nausea Jerry seems to feel pretty good from about noon on. Jerry's mental state is in a good place right now, there always seems to be someone around to keep him cheery.

We had a party at our house last night to celebrate Dennis' birthday. Jerry and I didn't get back from Pleasanton until 8:30, we were late for our own party. Oh well, we had fun anyway.

Therapy is going well, Jerry continues to get tingles in his legs while exercising. Jerry said yesterday that he could feel tingling in his hands which is new. Pray that this means his body is waking up. I pray several times a day that God will heal him completely and restore his body.

God bless you all for following Jerry's progress and keeping him in your daily thoughts and prayers, until he walks again.

Love always,
Katie

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DENNIS!!!
Hope you had a blast last night cuz you deserve it and no greys either.

WOW, what a week! I've been out of town and didn't get to go to the game but looks as if everyone enjoyed themselves! Especially Jer.

Thank the Lord that the Giants won and that you recouped the initial cost. It was kind of scary not knowing if the tickets would sell. (Sci-Fit for 2 more months is awesome.)

Tingling in the hands is good. Probbaly brought on by the itch to play poker with the guys. Thank you Lord for the tingling.

Praying for a painless endoscopy and colonoscopy. (double whammy from both ends...yuk!) Been there,
done that, but not at the same time. NAUSEA PLEASE JUST GO AWAY!

Miss and love you all,
Gretchen

Well now, just what have you been up to? I keep praying: "Lord, you know our hearts and prayers for all our young people. For Jerry and Allie, Timmy and Jacob especially. The three steps forward with one or two steps back is really hard, though we know you know what you're doing. It feels like chaos to us, though we trust You. Bless them and their families. Fortify them for the long haul of recovery. Thank you, Father, for the daily improvements, for the friends, for the prayers of your faithful, for the loving caregivers who tend to them and their families. We continue to be drawn together, to pray, laugh, live and love through your Son, Jesus. Amen

Blessing on another day, Macs. Love to you all.

Hmmm....tingling & feeling happen after parties?! Someone said it in an earlier blog: maybe you should have more parties!! Maybe the rush/adrenaline/excitement & love in the air ! is healing!....segway into: Blue Angels are coming. I am going & I would be happy to try and get you into the President's Club Section. It is shaded.
The "cheap seats" -lol- aren't!
Can always try. I take getting good seats at events to a whole new level, LOL, just ask Laura, she'll roll her eyes, her crazy mom!
We have the love of planesjets in common!
You, your family: Always in my prayers kiddo!

Hi guys,
Hope all is well with you.
Jerry,
Wondering how your tests went and if we got the nausea problem figured out yet.
We're all still praying for complete healing and want you to know we love you!
Katie,
This is no joke, I heard about the blue dye they use in M&M's this morning. They have been testing it on mice with spinal cord injuries. Apparently their spines have healed and they can walk again. There is one side effect though, their ears, noses and paws turn blue. I think Jerry looks good in blue.
God Bless,
Gretchen
