Back to Normal

Things are finally getting back to normal in our house after a hellish six weeks, Jerry has almost recovered fully and is feeling a little more like his old self.  It's going to take some time for Jerry to gain what he's lost over the last six weeks, his muscles have lost some tone, his tolerance for being in his wheelchair has gone way down, his blood pressure drops more now then ever and the FES bike causes his heart to race after 10 minutes.  These are disappointing set backs that should improve over time.  The good news is Jerry started back at SCI-FIT this week getting the much needed workouts with an amazing crew, it's good to be back but I'm still hating the drive. More good news, Jerry's right arm is getting stronger, he can move his right arm as much as his left arm now, the only difference is the right arm fatigues quicker.

That's all for now, I have to get Jerry ready, it's a SCI-FIT day.

God Bless!

Katie

I am so very pleased to hear that not only has Jerry recovered, but some of his range of motion has actually improved. His greater arm mobility must be very exciting for all of you.
I keep Jerry in my prayers,as well as the entire Maccallister family. May God's grace and love fall upon you all.

You are always in my prayers. A little birdy in a very large Silicon Valley corporation told me that their company is very generous, and said ya never know, but that they might help with donation to the Following Jerry funds. It's an over the hill company. I will send you the name of that company.

Six weeks is an aweful long time to be sick. It's going to continue to take time to build back all your strength Jer. But SCI-FIT is good news and your arm movement is simply wonderful too. Be kind to your body and take it slowly so you don't get this bug again. (chicken soup works but not in the 100+ degree weather we've had the last few days.) I bet you thought you weren't going to use your AC this year but I bet it's nice to be at your house during this heat wave.
Katie & Den & girls,
Keep up the good fight and know we all love you and pray daily for strength.
Love,
Gretchen
Rest in Peace Christopher Kamau.

Sharon I tried to send you an email to get more information, I think I have the wrong email address for you. Could you send me an email katie@followingjerry.com? I'm dying to know what you know. ;)

Hey Jer,
Been thinking about you and your fam. Hope Jessica's college classes are going well, Janea's child development is good and that Josh is settling into his life in SD. Chris is doing fine in So Cal and Mary is doing her thing in Chico.

I would imagine your mentos supply is sorely depleted and a good movie out would be timely. It'll be a few more weeks before Thanksgiving break, so hang in there. Chris may stay south for the holiday and head home for Christmas - still not sure what we're doing.

Just wanted to let you know you are remembered, daily. Hope Sci-Fit is going well and you're regaining some strength.

love ya,
Trish

So Trish and I are almost always on the same page. Great Minds Think Alike!

Hey Jer,
So the AC works but now we need to check the heater. The rain caught me off guard. I hope you managed to stay dry on your trips to SCI-FIT.
Luke probably won't be up for Halloween but he'll be home for Thanskgiving.
How is the football pool doing? I keep forgetting to ask who is leading in the standings.
49ers finally pulled one off and the Cougars beat Aptos (YEAH!)
The SF Giants are going to the World Series! (I have to think positive!)
Hope Mom and Dad are fine and everyday you get alittle stronger.
Love you always,
Gretch

Dennis, It was nice to talk to you the other day about the sensational GIANTS season. Looking at the blog it looks like there is some good news with Jerry. I pray that you and your entire family continue to have more better days. Love you all. Be sure to send me a youtube link of your bands upcoming performance!
