Saturday - Oct 18

I've feared the swine flu and prayed it would not hit our home, this week my fear came to be, Dennis was diagnosed with the swine flu. We quarantined him to the bedroom with a mask and gloves. I was very worried that Jerry would catch the bug, and it would spread through our house. I was like a crazy woman disinfecting everything in sight, three different times. Our whole family was treated with Tamiflu and so far no one else has gotten sick. We are scheduled to get vaccinated on Monday.

Things have been going much the same, Jerry is still having nausea in the morning and early afternoon. Jerry is scheduled for a CT Scan on the 26th, they'll be looking for any kind of stones bladder, kidney, etc. He's had two ultrasounds which came back normal, I'm told the CT Scan is supposed to be more sensitive. It sounds weird but I hope they find something, at least if the find stones you know what your dealing with and how to treat it. The whole looking for the needle in the haystack thing is getting old. I think we've tried every medication available, every homeopathic remedy and ran every test available. We're running out of options and really need to get to the root of the problem.

I put together a video of some of the exercises Jerry does at SCI-FIT. It's really poor quality because I took it with my phone but it gives you an idea of some of the things he does there.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, stay well.

God bless,
Katie

Great video, Katie! The quality isn't bad at all. Love the star of the show! I know it's only a blip of all the therapy you do, Jer and it's neat to see a fraction of what their doing with you. Keep up the hard work!

Thanks you guys for sharing so much of your lives with us! Sure hope Dennis is feeling better quickly. That's icky stuff, the flu - I don't care is it's swine or other, feeling miserable is awful! Stay well, everyone else!

Blessings,
Trish

I hope Dennis is healing fast. My daughter had the H1N1 flu and although she felt terrible and was quarantined for a week, she is doing fine now. We were told that she was no longer contagious twenty four hours after not having any fever. So, get well Dennis!

Thank you for the small glimpse into your life. It is inspiring and appreciated. You are dealing with so much more than I can imagine, but still manage to remain positive. Thank you for reminding all of us what is truly important in life.

I saw Dennis yesterday and he looked great for someone just recovering from the flu. I would have never know if I hadn't read it here. Glad to see he is doing better.

Love & Prayers,
Dawn

I pray the rest of you don't get that flu. Poor Dennis, he is probably a little run down from working so hard. Your more likely to get sick when your run down. Katie stay well! The video was good. Thanks for shareing it with us. Love you all.

Wow Jerry, you look like you're breaking a sweat at SCI-FIT. They really do know how to work you hard.

So happy too to know that the Tamaflu works and that Jerry and the rest of you are all safe.
Sorry Dennis had to go through that aweful flu but glad to hear he's in the pink again.

Keep smiling Jer,

I don't know your family but check in frequently. I hope that Dennis is feeling better....and that the swine flu (H1N1) doesn't hit the rest of the household (Jerry in particular).

Thanks for the update AND th video. The SCI-FIT crew are amazing. With their hard work and dedication, along with Jerry's hard work (and prayer), you can see such results.

Thanks again for all the updates....the web people truly appreciate it.

Nice video, thanks for sharing! Go Jerry - keep up all that hard work & we'll all keep praying for continued FAST progress, and for you to be able to use a joystick. I am sorry to hear nausea persists. Will continue praying for that to subside forever!
What a bummer for Dennis to come down with that nasty flu. Took the flu to make you take a rest, what a crummy way to take a break from all that hard working.
Keeping you all in my prayers.

Hey Jer,
Sure hope your time with Luke was as fun as our time with your folks! They were hysterical and we had a great time eating Gretchen's Chicken Parmigiana and trying to figure out the murder mystery - apparently Silky did it. It was a blast.

Though we don't post it everyday, you and your recovery are always in the forefront of our prayers. Our thoughts always surround you and your folks and sibs. Oh, I saw a chair in TN that I thought my be of some benefit. I'll bring the pictures by.

Lots of love to ya!
